Tile Flooring Installation in Spokane, WA
Cornerstone installs tile flooring across Spokane — kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, laundry rooms and whole-home floors, including large-format and wood-look plank tile.
Floors we install
Tile is the most demanding floor to install well and the least demanding to live with once it is done. The difference between the two is almost entirely in the preparation.
- Porcelain and ceramic kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, entries and mudrooms.
- Large-format tile fewer grout lines, and far less tolerance for a floor that is not flat.
- Wood-look plank tile the look of timber where water and wear would ruin the real thing.
- Natural stone set and sealed for the way stone actually behaves.
- Whole-home flooring run consistently from room to room so transitions are not an afterthought.
Flat floors and movement joints
Large-format tile magnifies everything. If the substrate is not flat, the corners lip and you feel it underfoot and see it in every raking light. We flatten the floor before setting rather than trying to bury the problem in mortar.
Movement joints matter just as much. Tile expands and contracts with temperature, and a floor run wall-to-wall with nowhere to move is a floor that eventually cracks or tents. We place joints where they belong, including at doorways and around the perimeter.
Tile Work Across Spokane Homes

We install — we are not a showroom
Searching for tile in Spokane turns up a lot of stores. Cornerstone is an installation company, not a retailer, and that is a useful distinction when you are choosing who to hire.
Many clients pick their tile from a local supplier and bring us in to install it. Others prefer we help with selection so the material, format, layout and trim all work together. Either way there is no showroom margin and no pressure to buy from us — we care that the tile you chose is one that can actually be installed well in the space you have.
Common Questions
Can you tile over an existing floor?
Sometimes, and often it is a bad idea. It depends on what is down, how sound it is, and what the added height does to your doors, appliances and transitions. We would rather tell you the substrate has to come up than set a beautiful floor over something that is going to move.
Is large-format tile more expensive to install?
It usually takes more labour, mostly because the floor underneath has to be flatter. The tile itself may cost less per square foot with fewer grout lines to maintain, so the total often lands closer than people expect. We break the prep out in the estimate so you can see what you are paying for.
Do I need to buy tile from you?
No. We are installers, not a showroom. Buy from whichever Spokane supplier you like and we will install it — or we can help you choose so the format, layout and trim work together.
How much extra tile should I order?
Order more than the exact square footage. Cuts, waste and pattern matching all consume tile, and diagonal or herringbone layouts consume more. Holding a few spare boxes afterwards also matters — dye lots change, and a future repair with mismatched tile is very visible.
